This orange swizzle stick with the cowboy on top is from the days when Benny Binion owned the Westerner. It represents an era when Las Vegas was a wild west town where prospectors and cowboys were a very common sight around town. A swizzle stick is a long plastic stick people used to blend the various liqueurs and mixes in their cocktails. The Westerner used swizzle sticks for advertising in the bar, restaurant and casino and had several different types, some with slot machines on the top in a variety of colors. Nowadays they are almost unheard of and have been replaced by straws.
